Jim’s career spans three of the largest technology trends to rise over the last decade: mobile computing, cloud computing and open source software. Today, as executive director of The Linux Foundation, he uses this experience to accelerate innovation in technology through the use of open source and Linux.
At The Linux Foundation, Jim works with the world’s largest technology companies, including IBM, Intel, Google, Samsung, Qualcomm, and others to help define the future of computing on the server, in the cloud, and on a variety of new mobile computing devices. His work at the vendor-neutral Linux Foundation gives him a unique and aggregate perspective on the global technology industry.
Jim has been recognized for his insights on the changing economics of the technology industry. His writing has appeared in Businessweek, Wired, and other top technology journals, and he is a regular keynote speaker at industry events. He advises a variety of startups, including Splashtop, and sits on the boards of the Global Economic Symposium, Open Source For America, and Chinese Open Source Promotion Union.

Fog Dong is a senior engineer at BentoML, a maintainer of KubeVela, and a CNCF ambassador. With a strong focus on cloud native DevOps, Fog actively contributes to the open source community. Currently, she is dedicated to developing the fastest approach to building AI applications at BentoML. With previous experience at Alibaba, she led the construction of large-scale application workflows for the Serverless Application Engine Product. Additionally, her expertise extends to building cloud native CI/CD platforms from her time at Bytedance.

Kevin Wang has been an outstanding contributor in the CNCF community since its beginning and is the leader of the cloud native open source team at Huawei. Kevin has contributed critical enhancements to Kubernetes, led the incubation of the KubeEdge, Volcano, Karmada projects in CNCF, actively participated in the TOC, and played a critical role in building and supporting the growth of CNCF technologies and the CNCF community in China.

Whitney is a lovable goofball who enjoys understanding and using tools in the cloud native landscape. Creative and driven, Whitney recently pivoted from an art-related career to one in tech. She is active in the open source community, especially around CNCF projects focused on developer productivity. You can catch her lightboard streaming show ⚡️ Enlightning on Tanzu.TV. She also co-hosts the streaming show You Choose! – a ‘Choose-Your-Own-Adventure’-style journey through the CNCF landscape. Qing Liu is dedicated to researching and implementing cloud computing technology in finance. As head of the Agricultural Bank of China’s cloud-native technology team, he led the planning, construction, and operation of the platform. Through in-depth analysis of cloud-native financial business challenges, he built a platform with one cloud and multiple cores for unified computing power delivery, achieved cloud-native throughout the application lifecycle, serving agile financial business delivery.

Kai Zhang, is now a staff engineer of Alibaba Cloud. He’s worked on container service product and enterprise solution development for 3 years. Before that, he worked in deep learning platform, cloud computing, distributed system and SOA area over 10 years. Recently, he is exploring how to deliver machine learning services through cloud, to lower the bar of adopting AI. In past years, he spoke in several public conferences, e.g. LC3, IBM’s IMPACT, CloudFoundry workshops, etc.
