演讲者差旅经费资助

如果您没有得到任何公司或组织的协助或赞助，而因为财务原因无法参加会议，您可以申请差旅经费资助。差旅经费资助申请的截止日期是2023年8月16日，星期三。

注意：演讲被接受并不保证获得差旅经费资助。

Your Speaker Registration serves as confirmation that you will be speaking with a deadline of Friday, August 18.

Anyone coming on site, please review our Health + Safety page. We ask that you please check back for updates as we get closer to the event.

You should have received registration details in your acceptance email. If you need this information sent to you again, please contact the CNCF Content Team. If you are not registered by August 18, there is a possibility that your speaking slot will be replaced by one on our waiting list so please do so promptly. 

Any co-speakers or panelists that are part of the original CFP submission will also receive complimentary registration. Please contact the CNCF Content Team for details.

Visa Letter Requests

If you require a visa letter, please register for the event, and then complete the visa letter request form.

Speaker Travel Funding

If you are not being assisted or sponsored by a company or organization,  and would be otherwise unable to attend for financial reasons, you may apply for travel funding. The deadline for travel funding applications is Wednesday, August 16.

Note: Talk acceptance does not guarantee travel funding.

主论坛演讲舞台布置

上海的主论坛演讲舞台将采用“推进式舞台”设计，带有半围绕式座位布置，旨在将观众与演讲者的距离最小化。这种独特的设计将使我们的社区更好地与演讲者产生联系。舞台的三面将设有观众座位：前方、左侧和右侧。由于这种独特的布置，以下是一些建议，帮助您在舞台上进行演讲时注意与各个方向的观众互动：

• 通过向每个观众部分传达一个完整的思想来练习舞台动作
• 向左或向右移动，并将您的注意力转向下一个座位区域，传达您的下一个话题或思想。

Keynote Walk-Through

• All in-person keynote presenters are required to attend a 15-minute walk-through of the keynote stage on September 26.
• This walk-thru will allow you to become familiar with the stage, understand what to expect on show-day, go over any AV needs you may have (e.g. how to play an embedded video), and let you practice clicking through your slides. This is a great opportunity to see if any issues arise and resolve them ahead of the event.
• Please let us know if you plan on showing a live demo on stage as our AV team will need to prepare differently ahead of time.
• Please keep September 26 available for this walk-thru.

You will be assigned a walk-thru time slot closer to the event. If you foresee any issues with attending your walk-through, please let Cody Liskh know as soon as possible to reschedule.

Keynote Stage Setup

The keynote stage in Shanghai will be what is known as a “thrust stage” with a semi-in-the-round seating layout designed to minimize the distance from the audience to the presenter. This unique design will allow our community to better connect with the presenters. There will be audience seating on three sides of the stage: front, left, and right. Because of this unique setup, here are some tips to pay attention to when navigating the stage in order to address the audience on all sides:

• Practice stage movement by presenting one complete thought to each section of the audience.  
• Shift to the right or left and face the next seating section with your next topic or thought.
• Make eye contact as much as possible in each of the three sections. Confidence monitors will face each direction.

The schedule will be announced on Wednesday, August 2, and will be posted on our website using Sched.com.

• Please note that all lightning talks are 5-minutes, maintainer and breakout sessions are 35-minutes, and tutorials are 85-minutes.
• If you have a conflict with the timing of your talk, find that it conflicts with the content of another talk, or are having problems uploading your bio and photo, please contact the CNCF Content Team.

Any additional AV requests are due by Wednesday, August 23.  

The keynote room will include:

• Handheld + Lavalier Microphones
• Countdown Timer
• Wireless Slide Advancer
• Lectern
• Confidence Monitors*

*We recommend that you consolidate your notes as much as possible to increase the font size as large as possible. Keeping it brief will ensure you will be able to easily read your notes while on the main stage

Note: After emailing your presentation to us, we will upload it to the show computers to play from backstage. CNCF will make every effort to accommodate additional AV needs; however, final approval for these requests will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Choosing your walk-on song

Song choices are due by Monday, September 18. 

We are asking keynote presenters to send us the name of the song + artist they wish to play as they are introduced to the stage. This will be 5-10 seconds of any song, so if there is a specific point in the song you wish to have played, please send us a link with the time stamps. All songs should adhere to our Code of Conduct and not include any profanity or suggestive themes. Please send your song choice details to Cody Liskh as soon as you are ready.

All speakers are required to submit a PDF-format version of their final presentation slides ahead of the event to Sched.com. We find that adding the presentations before the event helps to drive interest in attending the session. The deadline for presentations is Friday, September 15.

To upload slides:

• Log in to your speaker profile through Sched.com or via the mobile site
• On the top of the page click “Manage and Promote Your Session”
• Click “Add Presentation”
• Click in the “Select a File” box and add the PDF document (note: there is a 50MB size limit)
• Click “Upload” and your slides will automatically be saved

We designed an optional PowerPoint template for our speakers. Use of this template is not required but we do welcome you to use it for your convenience. Please note that you will be running your presentation from your laptop via HDMI hookup (bring an adapter if needed), but please also upload a PDF-format version of your slides to Sched.com using the instructions above, formatted in 16:9.

Please see the CNCF style guide which covers things like abbreviating Kubernetes as K8s not K8 or K8S.

The Linux Foundation, in collaboration with the National Center for Women in Technology (NCWIT), has created an online course designed to teach the viewer about inclusion, diversity, and unconscious bias. It is strongly encouraged by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation that all our speakers watch the course to learn tips/tools to use when speaking to encourage inclusivity in presentations and messaging.
